With Peers Petitions, anyone can start their own petition to protect and grow their local sharing economy. Start your own campaign here:
In our first six months, Peers members have had stand-out success through petitions on Peers.org and won 4 policy victories. We’ve gathered more than 230,000 signatures in New York, and won the right to help shape the rules of homesharing in Grand Rapids.
And this is only a tiny slice of the amazing and inspiring efforts ordinary people are making, all over the world, to build and protect this new economy.
That’s why Peers is now opening this petition tool to the whole world. We are starting campaigns to push back against entrenched interests, to live richer and fuller lives — or, in some cases, just to make ends meet. The first Peers Petitions reflect the rich diversity of ways we all engage with the sharing economy:
What we all have in common: A belief that, by working together, we can grow and shape this burgeoning new economy and make sure the benefits stay in our own communities.
Starting a campaign on Peers.org is a powerful way to reach the most passionate activists in the sharing economy. We built these tools in response to the overwhelming demand from Peers members, who are eager to support and run
It’s also a powerful way to make an impact. Peers staff organizers have experience and a deep passion for the sharing economy, and they’re amplifying member-driven campaigns through advice and support. We’ll offer best practices, and spread the word about petitions by email to other local members. Together, we’ll build support and gather signatures to help campaigns win.
